MAN, WOMAN SHOT EXPECTED TO RECOVER
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A man and woman who were shot last night in Woodbridge are recovering, and now an arrest has been made.
The two victims, an 18-year-old woman and 24-year-old man, were inadvertently shot outside a home on Wetherburn Court during an altercation between acquaintances, according to police documents. The incident stemmed from a fight that took place earlier Wednesday, and the victims are not believed to have been involved in the altercation, police stated.
Both victims were treated at a local hospital with injuries that did not appear to be life threatening and have been released.
Following the gunshots Wednesday night, police began searching for the alleged shooter who fled the scene. Using a description of the suspect’s car provided by those at the scene of the shooting, officers stopped a car in the area of Barksdale Road and Beale Court in Dale City later that night. It was there the suspect was arrested.
Johnathan Davon Coleman, 20, is charged with two counts of malicious wounding, two counts of using a firearm in commission of a felony and one count of discharging a firearm in public. His court date is set for June 4, and he was held without bond.
