Potomac Earns First Shutout Win

WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Behind a stellar start from Adam Olbrychowski, the P-Nats recorded their first shutout of the season in a 5-0 win over Winston-Salem. Potomac snapped the Dash nine-game win streak thanks in part to another three hit day from David Freitas.

Potomac started the scoring in the second off of Winston-Salem RHP Jake Petricka. David Freitas singled to lead off the inning and advanced to third on a Zach Walters double. Justin Bloxom knocked a single that scored Freitas and Walters and the P-Nats took their first lead of the series against Winston-Salem 2-0. Potomac added a third in the inning with a Wade Moore single to extend the lead to 3-0.

Again the Nationals scored with one in the fifth. Francisco Soriano led off the inning with a double and got to second on a sac bunt by Randolph Oduber. He scored on a double play hit into by Blake Kelso to give Potomac a 4-0 lead. Petricka (2-3) ended his day after six innings yielding the four earned runs but striking out seven. He took his third loss of the year.
