WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Sean Coyle had a season-high six RBIs as the Salem Red Sox scored a season-high in runs and ended the Potomac Nationals three-game win streak with a 13-4 victory. Coyle combined with Christian Vasquez and Drew Hedman to drive in twelve of Salem’s thirteen runs.
Salem sent ten batters to the plate in the top of the first against P-Nats starter Adam Olbrychowski and pounded out six hits. Sean Coyle drove in the first run of the game with an RBI double that scored Jackie Bradley Jr. Later with the bases loaded, Vasquez hit a two-run double to left field to increase the lead to 3-0. Hedman stepped to the plate next and delivered the biggest hit of the inning launching his first home run of the season, a three-run shot, to double the Red Sox advantage to 6-0.
