ACTS Food Pantry Reopens

Dumfries, Va. — The ACTS Food Pantry in Dumfries reopened earlier than anticipated Tuesday afternoon.

A community rallied in support for the center by collecting 30,000 pounds of food, NBCWashington.com reported.

The shelter ran out of food Oct. 18 for the first time since the recession hit in 2008. Many in our area feared the shelter would remain closed at least until Nov. 1 leaving thousands without food.
