Town Makes New Hire

Dumfries Town Hall

Dumfries, Va. — Dumfries has someone new to manage the town’s storm water program, and he’s from Stafford County.

Richard West was hired by the town last month as the Assistant Director of Public Works. In addition to storm water management, he will also oversee planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance projects in the town.

“Mr. West brings an extensive background in all facets involved in the running a Public Works program, including administering and managing several Department of Public Works for other municipalities and overseeing the implementation of Capital Improvement projects. “Richards vast experience will be a tremendous asset to our Town,” said Director of Public Works Greg Tkac in a press release. “His comprehensive knowledge and expertise in the Public Works field will help with implementing sound Public Works initiatives to improve the infrastructure of the town.”

Before coming to Dumfries, West served as Stafford County’s Director of General Services and as Public Works Director in Orange County.
