Boys and Girls Club Plans Fall Programs

Dumfries, Va. — After the General Heiser Branch of the Boys and Girls Club brought reopen after being dormant for two years and brought back summer camp, they’re going to do the same thing this fall.

The Boys and Girls Club in Dumfries this fall will hold a before and after school childcare program for ages 6 to 14-years-old. An annual membership to the club is $30, and with more participants the club plans to add new programs.

“As enrollment grows they plan to offer additional programming including a general after school program, open gym nights for ‘tweens’ and various mentoring programs with community partners,” said Greater Prince William Girls and Boys Clubs spokeswoman April Chervenka.

While the club charges for membership, it prides itself on not turning away a child whose family is unable to pay.

The before and after school programs will be available to students from the follow schools:

Pattie Elementary

Dumfries Elementary

Triangle Elementary

Swans Creek Elementary

River Oaks Elementary

Mary Williams Elementary

Potomac Middle

Graham Park Middle

Fred M. Lynn Middle

Rippon Middle
