Dumfries, Va. — Jeff Frederick will kick off his campaign for the Virginia Senate’s 36th District seat tomorrow at 10 a.m. in Dumfries.
The Republican will face challenger Tito Munoz in an August 23 primary, the winner of which will go onto face democratic incumbent Toddy Puller.
Frederick has urged students, active duty military personnel and those who will be out of the country on Primary Day to register to vote via absentee ballot.
His campaign kickoff will take place near the Dumfries Post Office, and he’ll canvass area neighborhoods afterward, he said.
Frederick in 2003 was elected to represent Woodbridge in the Virginia House of Delegates, and at age 28 was the youngest member of the house at the time of his election.
In 2009, he announced he would not seek another term and stepped down following his removal as the Chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia, a position he won in 2008.
