There may be some lingering April showers in the forecast but don’t let that stop you from enjoying all the events happening in the Potomac Communities this weekend.

There are several plays again this weekend, including Once Upon a Mattress, Pirates of Penzance, Godspell and Beauty and the Beast, with performances of various shows from Friday to Sunday.

Saturday, head out to Fredericksburg for the 39th Annual Art Festival featuring art and live music.  If the weather isn’t cooperative for an outside event, the National Museum of the Marine Corps will host a family day from noon until 3 p.m., complete with a model build.  If you’re in the mood for indoor art, the Lorton Workhouse hosts their monthly Art Walk this Saturday as well.

Baseball fans can catch a game Friday, Saturday, or Sunday with specials each night.  The Potomac Nationals will take on the Wilmington Blue Rockets for “Halloween Night” on Friday with trick-or-treating for costumed fans, “Scout Night” on Saturday with campout after the game, and “Bark at the Park” on Sunday where dogs are welcome at the game.

Sunday the plays and art festivals continue, and Historic Aquia Church will be hosting its annual Heritage Sunday including a service in colonial costume using the 1662 prayer book at 11:15 a.m  A lunch will follow the service.
