The fire department will be at the spring festival tomorrow at Potomac Town Center.
They’ll bring their mascot, Sparky the Fire Dog, offer tours of the fire engine, a 100-foot ladder truck and ambulance.
The crew of MEDEVAC helicopter Air Care 1 will also be on hand at 2:30 p.m. to talk to festival goers.
Children will also receive free fire helmets, temporary tattoos and stickers.
“OWL VFD is committed to community safety — we provide education, fire prevention, fire suppression and emergency rescue services for the citizens of Occoquan, Woodbridge and Lorton,” says OWL VFD Chief Jim McAllister in a press release. “We are proud to attend community events like these which allow us to meet people and give them an up-close look at our state-of-the-art apparatus.”
The festival begins Saturday at 1 p.m. and goes until 5 p.m. It’s in the same shopping center as Wegmans grocery store, off Dale Boulevard and Neabsco Mills Road.
In addition to the volunteer fire department, there will also be prizes, free family activities as and an appearance by an area radio station.
