New HomeGoods Makes Charitable Donation

Mount Vernon, Va. –– The south county has a new place to shop for furniture, kitchen items, bed and bath, and just about everything else.

A ribbon cutting was held for the new HomeGoods store at 7844 Richmond Highway in the Mount Vernon area Sunday.

Mount Vernon Supervisor Gerry Hyland, along with members of the of the Southeast Fairfax Development Corporation and HomeGoods heralded the opening of the store at 7:45 a.m.

The new 24,000 square foot store replaces an A.J. Wright store that once sat in the Mount Vernon Crossroads Shopping Plaza.

HomeGoods made a $5,000 donation to the United Communities Ministries of Alexandria during the grand opening.
