Stafford County, Va. –– Two house fires kept rescue crews in Stafford County busy overnight.
Crews were called to a blaze at 240 Marlborough Point Road in the Aquia District about 1:46 a.m.
As they arrived on the scene, most of the house except the garage was fully involved in flames.
The two occupants of the home had made it out safely, and crews then went to work to extinguish the blaze, said Stafford County fire and rescue spokesman Mark Doyle.
It took a little more than an hour to extinguish the fire, the cause of which has been ruled accidental.
Crews were able to save the garage portion of the home with two cars inside, its contents valued at $100,000, said Doyle.
Damage to the house is estimated at $563,000.

Earlier this morning about 12:50, fire crews were called to the house fire at 350 Shaw Court near the William Street Bridge in Fredericksburg.
Crews arriving on scene first saw smoke showing from the third floor of the townhome, said Doyle.
They found the fire in a laundry room and used a hoseline to douse the flames.
Two adults and four children were inside the home and made it out safely escaping injury, said Doyle.
Damage to the home is estimated to be $50,000.
