From Prince William County Transportation Director Rick Canizales: 

The purpose of this project is to complete a section of the Shared-Use Path along Route 234 southbound from 240 feet south of Exeter Drive to Country Club Drive, for an approximate distance of 4,300 feet. More specifically this proposed trail would connect from an existing trail at the north side of the First Mount Zion Baptist Church to the Brittany Community at Exeter Drive, proceeding north in front of the Brittany Neighborhood Park.


From VDOT: 

Drivers can expect nighttime lane closures on I-66 over the next two weeks at Route 15, weather permitting, for crews to set bridge beams for the new southbound Route 15 overpass, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.


From the Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission: 

The Potomac and Rappahannock Transportation Commission (PRTC) is pleased to again participate in Try Transit Week and Car Free Day – two events that encourage people to find alternatives to driving solo and award prizes for pledging to do so!


A driver was trapped inside their vehicle after it crashed in the area of Route 55 and Gillis Way near Haymarket.

Fire and rescue crews were called about 12:40 p.m. to extricate the driver from the crashed vehicle. A female driver was flown to a local hospital after having what appeared to be a seizure behind the wheel prior to the crash.


From Fairfax County Department of Transportation: 

Beginning Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, through Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2016, Metrorail’s Orange Line trains will continuously single track between Vienna and West Falls Church Metrorail Stations during weekdays and complete station shut-downs will affect travelers during weekends.


From the Virginia Department of Transportation: 

Lane closures for milling and paving will occur nightly on part of Shoppers Best Way from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Tuesday, August 23 through Thursday, August 25, and on portions of Featherstone Road and Blackburn Road from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday, August 28 through Thursday, September 1, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.
