MANASSAS PARK — A growing number of drivers are parking their vehicles in Manassas Park neighborhoods. And, it’s becoming an issue city leaders must address.

“There’s only so much space,” said  Donald Shuemaker, a councilman on the Manassas Park Governing Body. “Our population is growing.”


MANASSAS — (Press Release) On January 4, 2019, at 10:18 a.m., officers responded to the intersection of Sudley Rd at Godwin Dr to investigate a crash involving three vehicles.

As a result of the crash, the driver of one of the vehicles sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local area hospital.  The critically injured driver, a 46-year-old male, later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.


FREDERICKSBURG – (Press Release) Construction is complete one month ahead of schedule on a federally-funded safety improvement project to reduce the risk of crashes and injuries at the Route 3 interchange (Exit 130) on Interstate 95 in Fredericksburg.

The $21 million Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) project aims to reduce vehicle merging and weaving at the entrance and exit points to I-95 at Route 3.


BRISTOW — (Press Release) On December 23 at 10:37 p.m., investigators from the Crash Investigation Unit responded to the 10900 block of Bristow Rd in Bristow (20136) to investigate a single vehicle crash.

The investigation revealed that a 1990 Acura Integra was traveling eastbound on Bristow Road when the driver lost control of the vehicle, left the roadway, and struck two trees. As a result of the crash, two rear passengers were ejected from the vehicle.


WOODBRIDGE — The prospect of more parking spaces is closer to reality for Woodbridge commuters.

The Prince William County Board of Supervisors is expected to approve a new 1,414-space garage in February. The $37- million garage will be located near a Wegmans store at Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center, said Board Chairman At-large Corey Stewart.


HAYMARKET — The first of 10 new OmniRide commuter coaches emblazoned with its a paint scheme made its debut this week.

Gone is the teal color of the past. Today, this bus and all others that follow it will feature a bright blue and green paint scheme, with a newly designed OmniRide logo stretched across both sides of the bus.


NEWINGTON — The future of increased rail transportation in the region and the state hinges on Long Bridge.

The 114-year-old steel truss bridge links Virginia and Washington D.C. and carries 76 trains every weekday — a mix of freight, Amtrak, and Virginia Railway Express trains.
