The effort to extend the runway at Stafford Regional Airport got a major boost from the Federal Government.

Senator Tim Kaine announced the airport would get $5.5 million in federal funding. The airport is currently working to extend the airport’s runway by 1,000 feet to attract more planes to the region.


A Spotsylvania woman died in a crash on Route 2 in Stafford County on Friday, July 2.

At 8 a.m., Jasmine Rennish, 18, was driving a Ford Mustang was traveling in the right northbound lane in the 1700 block of Jefferson Davis Highway, near Stafford Hospital, when it entered standing water, the Stafford sheriff’s office says.


Here’s an important note for those who travel on Virginia’s highways. especially through the Richmond area.

A 23-year-old man was shot and killed early this morning while riding in a Kia sedan, which was traveling on I-64, near the intersection of I-95. The driver of the car exited the highway and stopped in the 500 block of East Broad Street, near a U.S. Federal Courthouse.


At least one person has died following a crash in Stafford County.

A portion of a Route 1 is closed, just south of Hosptial Center Boulevard near Stafford Hosptial following the crash. Few details are available, but the Stafford sheriff’s office tells sent us the following information.


Stafford County will resume its annual 4th of July fireworks show at Pratt Memorial Park, after taking a year off last year due to the pandemic.

The event draws crowds from around the region to the park, located just outside of Fredericksburg. This year on, starting at 9 p.m. on Sunday, July 4, the county will close a portion of River Road — a key, two-lane pathway drivers use to access the park.
