At 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Prince William County Supervisor Marty Nohe (R-Coles) will discuss issues with his democratic opponent, Anthony Arnold. Dr. Jack Kooyoomjian, Vice President of the Prince William Committee of 100 – the organization sponsoring the event – will moderate the event.

A dinner will follow at 7 p.m., and then candidates vying for state senate offices, Sen. Charles Colgan (D-29, Manassas, Prince William) will debate Republican challenger Tom Gordy.


The National Federation of Independent Business, Virginia’s leading small-business association, has endorsed Jeff Frederick in the 36th Senate District race.

The endorsement was made by NFIB/Virginia SAFE (Save America’s Free Enterprise) Trust, which is comprised exclusively of NFIB members. NFIB has 6,000 small-business members throughout the Commonwealth.

Lake Ridge, Va. –Taxes and transportation dominated the conversation between two candidates running to represent the Potomac Communities in the Virginia Senate.


Richmond, Va. – Prince William County Delegate Richard L. Anderson (R-Prince William) was honored on Monday morning in ceremonies in Norfolk, Va., by the Virginia Sheriffs Association at its annual 2011 conference. The event takes place each year and includes the 123 sheriffs from jurisdictions across the state.

Del. Anderson was recognized for his leadership and support of Virginia sheriffs during the 2010 and 2011 legislative sessions of the Virginia General Assembly. The award, known informally as the “Legislative Rookie Award,” is presented by Virginia sheriffs to the freshman legislator who has demonstrated the greatest support with consistency for sheriffs across the Commonwealth in matters of legislation, policy, and appropriations. The last such award was made in 2006.

Woodbridge, Va. — Woodbridge District Supervisor Frank Principi has won the endorsement of the Prince William Education Association, according to his campaign.

The organization that lobbies for the interests of educators in Prince William is expected to announce their endorsement Thursday at Fred M. Lynn Middle School in Woodbridge.


Lateef gets Virginia New Majority endorsement
