I am no different. I plead guilty. I fully admit to using any means possible to wake up and connect the community where I live. I use blogs and Facebook as well as many other types of social media like Twitter and LinkedIn.


A Fresh Focus

I spend a lot of time on this blog talking about my own feelings about the Farmer’s Market—what it means to me and why I feel it’s an important aspect of the community. So this morning, I decided to take to the streets with a clipboard and ask some strangers shopping at the market why they choose to shop at the City of Manassas Farmer’s Market.

Mom on the Run

I’m home, finally, after a long and busy day at work. I walk in the front door, pass through the hall, and enter the kitchen. On my right, at the entry to the family room, sit a laundry basket and a plastic bin overflowing with my daughter’s clothes. I close my eyes for a second, breathe, and walk on, ignoring the chaos.

I’m at Walmart, roving around with a shopping cart. I have no list, I left it at home, and I’ve been told that my list is questionable anyway. “I didn’t use half that stuff, Mom,” my daughter said. And, “I don’t really need much more stuff,” my son shrugged.
