PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY — As Prince William County Public Schools experiences its smallest enrollment increase in recent history, plans for a fifteenth high school and two new middle schools have been nixed from the school division’s Capital Improvements Program.
The Capital Improvements Program (CIP) covers 2019 to 2028, and budgets projects to meet demands driven by enrollment growth and student population shifts.
PRINCE WILLAM COUNTY — (Press release) The Prince William County School Board has approved the School Division’s $1.24 billion budget for the Fiscal Year 2020.
It’s an increase of about four percent over the previous year’s budget.

This year, the Stafford School Board has unanimously voted to allow Superintendent Scott Kizner to present his proposed 2019-20 budget for Stafford County Public Schools 2019-2020 to the Board of Supervisors, which is responsible, in part, for funding it.

The school division will now look at two of three new redistricting proposals, plans C and E. Each School Board member has the ability to make changes to the plans that were selected.
STAFFORD — Superintendent Scott Kizner’s Fiscal Budget for the 2019-20 school year proposes a 22.45 percent increase in funding for guidance services in Stafford’s public schools. The total budget requested for the guidance program is $8.5 million.
Funding for guidance services come from both state and local funds. Included in the budget are salaries, benefits, professional development, conference fees, and instructional supplies.
STAFFORD — Once a main priority for the Stafford County School Board, setting a new transgender bathroom policy will have to wait.
The issue in recent weeks has gotten pushed aside as the School Board instead focuses on making and approving its 2020 budget and tries to make good on a promise to redistrict and every elementary school in the county.
