BRISTOW, Va. — After police were called to a home in Bristow for a report of someone brandishing a firearm, police had a react quickly when someone tried to hit police with a car, according to police reports.

DUMFRIES, Va. — A new community service program in Dumfries aims to pair volunteer mentors with the youths that need them most.
Janae Williams, 23, of Dumfries, and Brittany Jordan, 20, of Stafford, are working as part of the new Dumfries Cares program at the town’s community center on Main Street.

Northern Virginia businesses can learn how to reduce company liability and improve safety at the “Know Toxics” training sponsored by Virginia Waste Management Board on Tuesday March 19 at the 1-66 Transfer Facility Training Center in Fairfax. The training is scheduled from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost is $40 per person and includes breakfast and lunch.
