WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Danielle Sherred was running errands with her mom when they stopped at the Shell station located at 13890 Noblewood Plaza in Woodbridge. She bought two Big Winning Numbers tickets from the Virginia Lottery. They then discovered that one of the tickets was a $250,000 winner.

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginians will soon have two new options for specialty license plates: one for fans of the Washington Nationals baseball team, and the other sporting the words “Peace Begins at Home.”

A 27-year-old cab driver from Woodbridge is charged in the shooting of an Alexandria police officer on Wednesday.
The shooting stemmed from a traffic stop in Alexandria.
Prince William police said a man is charged in the robbery of a Burke and Herbert bank in Woodbridge last weekend.
The man was found in North Carolina, and he’s also wanted in connection to a crime in West Virginia.

MANASSAS, Va. — The Boys and Girls Club for the first time will hold their annual Stake ‘N Steak charity dinner at the Hylton Performing Arts Center in Manassas.
Virginia Railway Express is adding more capacity for riders via their Amtrak Step-Up ticket, the price of which will be lowered from $5 to $3 starting Friday.
The Step-Up fare allows would-be riders of Virginia Railway Express trains to instead board Amtrak trains that serve VRE riders. Those trains are listed on VRE schedules.
