On Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. join the Manassas City Police Department, the Prince William County Police Department, and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) in preventing pill abuse and theft by ridding homes of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs. In Manassas, residents can participate at Prince William Hospital, 8700 Sudley Road. Other locations include Heathcote Health Center in Haymarket and Sentara Lake Ridge in Woodbridge. The service is free and anonymous, no questions asked.

MANASSAS, Va. — On Wednesday, April 3, 2013, Fire and Rescue units from the City of Manassas, Manassas Park, and Prince William County responded to a fire in a home in the 10000 block of Abbott Road. A resident of the home left food cooking unattended in the kitchen. Another resident who was returning to the home, discovered the fire and tried to extinguish it with a bowl of water before calling the fire department. The only smoke alarm in the home had been disconnected a few days before the fire occurred.


Just after 8 a.m. Monday, large moving trucks and a dumpster were sitting in the parking lot of the eatery, and employees were seen carrying out tables, chairs, and small light fixtures.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — After the Prince William Conservation Alliance worked hard to preserve Merrimac Farm, group members decided they wanted to have an annual festival to acquaint the community with the site.

The Merrimac Farm Natural Wildlife Area, as it’s known officially, is made up of 302 acres of wetlands outside Quantico Marine Corps Base in Nokesville in western Prince William County.

Because of a change in chlorine added to water, and a series of upcoming flushes, residents might notice a slight change in the taste and odor of their water.
