The Carnival of Hope is not your typical carnival. This event will take place this weekend, Saturday, May 4 at Marshall Elementary School at 12505 Kahns Road in Prince William County from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.


MONTCLAIR, Va. — Students and staff are outside Henderson Elementary School this morning after someone made a bomb threat at the school.

Police are on the scene, and students and staff are being held in a safe area while investigators work to determine the credibility of the threat, school officials said.


DUMFIRES, Va. — What officials want: Dumfries’ $4.4 million budget reduced by as much as four cents. While that may not sound like much, it amounts up to a $60,000 cut in town services.

At Tuesday night’s Town Council meeting, leaders tasked Town Manager Daniel Taber coming up with a way to fund the town’s needs, implement tax cuts, and take into consideration council members’ individual wants for the coming fiscal year. He’s to report back to them with a balanced budget in two weeks, detailing what services he intends to cut to make it all work.


LAKE RIDGE, Va. – The restaurants in and around Lake Ridge are tasty, and the organizers of the annual “Taste of Lake Ridge” want you to come out and take in what community has to offer.

The neighborhood event will feature food from area restaurants like The All-American Steakhouse, Tim’s Rivershore, Langiappe on the Bayou, Glory Days Grill, Rita’s Ice, Harbor One Comfort Snack Mix, Oscar’s BBQ, Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory, and and Confections Cupcakes.


WOODBRIDGE, Va. – Someone shot out a window at Occoquan Elementary School on Monday morning.

Police said a single bullet was shot through one of the classroom windows of the school. No one was inside the school at the time of the shooting. The bullet damaged a SmartBoard inside a classroom causing $12,000 in damage, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — For three years, Woodbridge Senior High School Center for the Fine and Performing Arts (CFPA) Creative Writing students performed self-written pieces at ‘A Play on Words’ for their friends and family. The event took place in the Studio Theater on Saturday.
