On Monday night, the Prince William Crime Prevention Council held its monthly meeting at the McCoart Building in Woodbridge. Along with the council’s monthly updates on crime prevention, bullying awareness and the safety of Prince William County citizen’s, the board listened to Daycare Licensing Inspector Linda Reynolds talk about the difference between licensed and unlicensed daycare businesses in Northern Virginia.
DALE CITY, Va. — The driver of a Mercedes traveling that was traveling on Dale Boulevard and then ran off of the road wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was killed, police said.
The crash happened at 5:57 a.m. Sunday in the 4100 block of Dale Boulevard in Dale City, near the Forrestdale Shopping Center. Police said the driver was the only occupant inside the car, and that he lost control, struck a median and then a tree.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A bicyclist killed on Friday in front of C.D. Hylton High School was identified as 66-year-old Joseph James Callahan, 66, of Woodbridge.
He was killed when a 17-year-old female from Manassas driving a 2008 Ford Mustang drove off of Spriggs Road and hit with Callahan, police said.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A bicyclist was struck by a car and killed at the entrance of C.D. Hylton High School this afternoon.
School officials reported the crash just before 4 p.m. They said it does not appear to be a student, and that the entrance to the school was going to be closed for at least two hours.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A Woodbridge man was killed Thursday in a crash near a post office.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — William Vaughn saw horror unfold on Sept. 11, 2001. He and his wife were staying in the Marriott Hotel at the World Trade Center and were going through their morning routine of drinking coffee and exercise when a plane hit the North Tower.
They both escaped that fateful morning without injury and watched as the second plane hit the South Tower, and gasped as the building later collapsed onto the hotel they had slept the night before.
