The challenge is simple: make the tastiest meal (or at least the most palatable) out of two MRE packs “blindly” pulled from a box and whatever ingredients each chef can fit into his or her “cargo pocket” (the big pocket on the trousers of field uniforms, about the equivalent of a quart-size plastic bag). With a cooktop fueled by a Sterno can, contestants will work their magic, hoping to be awarded the coveted Golden Canteen Cup. Contestants can cook alone or in two-person teams.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — There is new construction happening ahead of the opening of a new Habitat for Humanity ReStore in Woodbridge.
Work is underway on the facade of an old Food Lion store at 13989 Noblewood Plaza, where the new ReStore will be located at the corner of Prince William Parkway and Minniville Road.
Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 45th U.S. President on Friday.
The Inauguration ceremony begins in the front steps of the Capitol in Washington, D.C. at 11:30 a.m.

From police:
Armed Robbery – On January 13 at 5:55PM, officers responded to the Boost Mobile store located at 7581 Centreville Rd in Manassas (20111) to investigate a robbery. Employees reported to police that an unknown, masked man entered the business and demanded money. The suspect brandished a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing the business on foot. No injuries were reported. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspect who was not located.

Armed Robbery | Felony Hit & Run – On January 15 at 4:06PM, officers responded to the area of Lindendale Rd and Leesburg Ct in Woodbridge (22193) to investigate a robbery. The victim, a 15-year-old male juvenile of Woodbridge, reported to police that he and another male juvenile were walking in the above area when they were approached by four males in a white Mercedes sedan.
