Good morning Prince William – Serve our Willing Warriors is having their next volunteer orientation on Thursday May 25th 6-7 p.m. and Wednesday May 31st 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.. Uptown Alley is sponsoring a fun event for SERVE throughout the month of May. Simply gather your friends and families and go bowling at Uptown Alley. Okras — a staple restaurant in Downtown Manassas since 1998 — opened its second location on the Virginia Oaks golf course clubhouse in Gainesville. The Cajun-style restaurant is the sole occupant of the clubhouse, complete with dining areas, a full bar, patio, and events spaces.

“Single lane closures will occur along northbound Route 29 between Lucas Court and Carver Road the nights of Sunday, May 7 through Wednesday, May 10 from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m. each night for drainage pipe replacement, according to the Virginia Department of Transportation.

A total of 1,143 pounds of expired or unused prescription medications were collected in greater Prince William County on Saturday, April 29th. The event was sponsored by the Crime Prevention Unit of the Prince William County Police Department, the City of Manassas Police Department, the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Novant Health UVA Health System Prince William Medical Center, Sentara Lake Ridge Ambulatory Care Center, and Novant Health UVA Health System Haymarket Medical Center hosted the DEA’s “Take Back” initiative.

Sexual Assault Investigation – On May 3 at 1:10 p.m., an officer responded to investigate a sexual assault which allegedly occurred at an unknown residence somewhere in Woodbridge on April 29 around 1:00 a.m. The victim, a 17-year-old girl of Woodbridge, reported to police that she was at a party in the above area when she was followed outside the residence by an unknown male.
