Commercial Burglary- On April 20 at 4:46AM, officers responded to the Tobacco Hut located at 14654 Lee Highway in Gainesville (20155) to investigate a burglary in progress. An employee reported to police that two unknown suspects were observed on video surveillance inside the business.
In a recent online list, Leesylvania State Park in Woodbridge was ranked as one of the most “lesser known” parks in Virginia.
The park is located along the Potomac River in Woodbridge. It’s the site of the home of Major-Gen. Henry “Light Horse Harry” Lee who served in the Revolutionary War and as the ninth governor of the state. He was also the father of Confederate Gen. Robert E. Lee.

On Thursday, April 20th at 6:31 a.m., fire and rescue units were dispatched to an apartment fire located in the 16800 block of Flotilla Way in Woodbridge.

In 2014, the county worked to fill the 89-year-0ld dam on the Occoquan River with concrete after two toe drains at the bottom were seen spilling an unusually high amount of water into the river from the bottom of the structure.
