From VDOT: 

Work to reconfigure slug lines and create new bus-only travel lanes at the Pentagon Reservation’s South Parking Lot “Pork Chop,” located east of Eads Street and north of I-395, will begin on or about Monday, March 19. Pedestrians and motorists should exercise caution while traveling in the area.

Rape | Malicious Wounding by Caustic Substance | Domestic Related – On March 16, detectives from the Special Victims Bureau began an investigation into multiple domestic incidents which were reported to have occurred at a residence located in the Woodbridge (22193) area of Prince William County between June 2017 and January 2018.


From Manassas fire and rescue: 

City of Manassas, VA . . . At 8:08 p.m. on March 19, Fire and Rescue units from the City of Manassas, Manassas Park, and Prince William County responded to a fire at9011 Centreville Road (Manassas Mobile Home Park) for a report of a mobile home fire.  First arriving units saw smoke rising from the roof of the home and crews were able to extinguish the fire.  The fire came from a bedroom in the home.  There were no injuries to the six occupants of the home. 


MANASSAS — A new, three-day multi-media art event, One Love Manassas, will be held in May.

Designed to give artists a platform to perform and share and leverage their art with the greater community, the event is aimed at bringing awareness and inspiring hope for the love of all artistic platforms — along with spreading a few other messages, according to Ken Moorman, co-owner of Jirani Coffeehouse in Historic Manassas.


The John Mathis Entrepreneurial Spirit Award, named after the father of One Degree Capital co-founder Jenn Mathis, is now accepting applications for the 2018-19 academic year scholarship award.

Established in 2016, the scholarship award seeks to encourage the entrepreneurial spirit of youths. The inaugural scholarship award went to then-high school senior Destini Sapp, owner of two-year old custom craft business Crafted by Des.


Following the sudden resignation of Prince William County School Board Chairman Ryan Sawyers on March 7, 20 Prince William County residents tossed their names into the hat to be considered to be the next interim Chairman.

The School Board is slated to choose an interim replacement for Sawyers next month. A General Election will be held in November for a permanent replacement who will complete Sawyer’s term ending in December 2019.


TRIANGLE — It was almost as if a tornado cut a path through Prince William Forest Park. 

Park Chief Chris Alford said major damage from a violent windstorm that struck the region on March 2 and 3 could be seen in a straight line from the Oak Ridge tent campground area, south over Mawavi Road in the park, and over cabin camps two and five.
