It’s the home stretch of the election season and money is pouring in, campaigners are knocking on doors and politics are heating up.

Residents filled the Prince William County Government Center on Tuesday night to oppose any new sewer lines in the Rural Crescent, an area of land between Quantico Marine Corps Base and Manassas National Battlefield.
Why it matters: The county’s planning department suggests running lines to the area where they banned today.

Cell phone video posted to social media shows a woman accosting Vega at a community festival on Saturday at the Muslim Association of Virginia Community Center on Hoadly Road in Woodbridge.
The woman on the video who accosted Vega identified herself as being associated with CASA in Action, an organization that bills itself as the largest group of its kind in the Mid-Atlantic advocating for the rights of immigrants.
Foley has served as the Executive Director for Volunteer Prince William, the volunteer resource center for the Greater Prince William community for nearly 30 years.
Foley led the volunteer organization to the acquisition of the Urban Area Security Initiative (UASI) Grant, which allows Volunteer Prince William to fund operations in emergency preparedness, and to recruit volunteers in times of disaster.

The Ruth Anderson and Victor Angry, the Occoquan and Neabsco District Supervisors on the Board of County Supervisors, respectively, ordered County Executive Christopher Martino to look at intersection improvements along the road that traverses the county.
Why it matters: Prince William Parkway is a major thoroughfare linking Interstates 95 and 66, and it’s littered with signal lights that slow and stop the flow of traffic.
The Prince William County Solid Waste Division will hold a free document shred event for Prince William area residents on Saturday, October 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or until trucks reach capacity).
Two locations are available: Prince William County Landfill, 14811 Dumfries Road, Manassas and Chris Yung Elementary School, 12612 Fog Light Way in Bristow.

Manisha Kunwar is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Sentara Family Medicine Physicians in Dumfries. She joined the team earlier this year, “I love taking care of our patients and bringing a smile back to their face,” says Ms. Kunwar. “Getting a chance to be involved in their healing process is priceless.”
That’s the result of an analysis conducted by the Northern Virginia Transportation Authority, which funded the 2.2-mile project, said Marty Nohe, authority chairman.
“That’s time people can spend at home with their families, not commuting,” he added.
