Flames broke out at a townhouse at 17383 Cusack Lane, just off River Heritage Boulevard about 11 a.m.

Fire crews arrived to find flames shooting from the rear deck and working their way up the rear of the house into the attic.


That’s the message from Quantico Marine Corps Base Commander Col. Daniel J. Choike, who reminded the public that the search is still on for whoever shot at the National Museum of the Marine Corps, The Pentagon, a U.S. Marine Corps recruiting facility in Fairfax County and a U.S. Coast Guard recruiting facility outside Potomac Mills mall in Woodbridge.

Those shootings took place in the overnight or early morning hours of Oct, 17, 19, 25, 26, and 29. No one was injured, but an FBI investigation has linked ammunition in each of the shootings to a single weapon.


A man walked into the Christ is Lord Ministry at 14338 Jefferson Davis Highway (U.S. 1) in Woodbridge at 11:45 a.m., brandished a gun and took an undisclosed amount of cash that was collected that morning during church service. None of the parishioners were hurt, and the man fled the scene, said Prince William police spokesman Jonathan Perok.

When officers arrived at the scene, parishioners were able to identify the man who took the money.
