Woodbridge, Va. — If you want to donate to the victims who lost their homes in Woodbridge during the floods you had better bring cash.
More than 300 people took refuge at a Red Cross shelter at Woodbridge Senior High School on Friday, and those still at the shelter have been moved to the nearby Sharon Baucom Dale City Rec Center.
Stafford, Va. — The bell tolled for not only for firefighters in Stafford County on Sunday, but for first responders across the U.S. both currently serving and those who died in terrorist attacks 10-years ago to the day.
Woodbridge, Va. — Due to recent flooding in our area, the Red Cross will be using the Sharon Baucom Dale City Recreation Center (SBDCRC) as an emergency shelter. The SBDCRC was closed to the public beginning at 8 p.m. Saturday. The center will be used to provide temporary housing to Prince William County residents who lost their homes during the flooding, according to a Prince William County Park Authority press release.
Woodbridge, Va. — Officials and the community remembered 22 people from Prince William County who lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.
Police said 40-year-old Edgar Tobar, a construction employee, was standing near a roadway of a construction site when another employee operating an asphalt roller lost control of the machine and ran over Tobar, said a Fairfax County police spokesman.
Tobar was taken to a local hospital where he died.
Occoquan, Va. — When you live by the Occoquan River, there’s a few things you have to accept, like the possibility of flooding. But on Thursday night it wasn’t the river that toppled its banks, but the Ballywhack Creek which runs through town.
