WOODBRIDGE, Va. — There’s a group of made moms who gather for dinner at an Italian restaurant in Old Town Manassas.


STAFFORD COUNTY, Va — Officials will cut the ribbon on two new sections of the Belmont-Ferry Farm Trail on Saturday.

Phases three and five of the six-section trail will open tomorrow. The trail will eventually link Historic Falmouth with Ferry Farm – George Washington’s boyhood home on the Rappahannock River. It’s being built in sections and, when finished, will link to other areas like Saint Claire Brooks Park, as well as other areas across the river in Fredericksburg, forming the “Heritage Loop.”


DUMFRIES, Va. — Summer camp is in full swing at the Boys and Girls Clubs in the Potomac Communities.

Boys and Girls clubs in Dale City, Dumfries, and Manassas, have welcomed 500 registered teens to the clubs for the annual “Send a Kid to Camp” summer event. Touted as an affordable quality alternative to other summer camps, the clubs offer basketball and volleyball leagues in the evening, and new a teen, and sports camp programs for those ages 5 to 17-years-old.

BRIDGE LINKING MARINE CORPS BASE WILL BE DEMOLISHED

The Lake Ridge Rotary Club held their annual Celebrity Luncheon at Bistro L’Hermitage restaurant in Occoquan. Nearly 120 people came to the annual fundraiser and were served food and drinks by Prince William Occoquan Supervisor Mike May, Coles District Supervisor Marty Nohe, Delegate Richard Anderson, Occoquan Mayor Earnie Porta, and Chairman of the Potomac Health Foundation Marion Wall, and CASA Greater Prince William Executive Director Charlyn Hasson-Brown (she appeared as Dolly Parton we’re told).


LORTON, Va. — The Workhouse Arts Center received a $55,000 donation on Wednesday, June 13, 2012, to improve and grow the its new glass hot shop.
