NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — The bookworm bandits are behind bars facing charges, and employees at Hampton Oaks Elementary School are left to clean up their mess.

Authorities were called to the school at 107 Northampton Boulevard in North Stafford at 1:30 a.m. Sunday after a burglar alarm was triggered.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Residents got an earful Thursday about a new baseball stadium for the Potomac Nationals and the traffic it could bring.

Prince William County officials call the newly proposed 6,000-seat minor league stadium a dream project that will attract even more business to Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center in Woodbridge. The stadium would sit along busy Interstate 95 across from Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center and near a popular Wegmans grocery, which anchors the Stonebridge shopping center.

WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Tim Kaine will be in Woodbridge tonight to attend a meeting of Virginians Organized for Interfaith Community Engagement (VOICE).

The U.S. Senate hopeful will attend the meeting which takes place at 7:30 p.m. at St. Paul United Methodist Church at 1400 G Street in Woodbridge.


OCCOQUAN, Va. — The Occoquan Merchants Association is no more.

The group of small business owners in Occoquan was comprised small shop owners in the tiny riverside town. The group promoted ghost tours, the town’s farmers market, the holiday tree lighting, as well as the interests of about 20 small businesses in the town.


QUANTICO, Va. — The line to see Dakota Meyer started early Wednesday afternoon when the Medal of Honor recipient came to Quantico for a book signing.

Meyer’s new book, Into the Fire, hit shelves Tuesday. It details the story of the first living U.S. Marine in three decades to receive the Medal of Honor.


STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. — One man is dead following a two-vehicle Stafford crash in Stafford County. At 4:35 p.m. Thursday, Virginia State Police Trooper A.J. Falkner was called to the scene on Route 17 near Stafford Lakes Parkway.

A 1999 Ford F-350 pickup truck was traveling north on U.S. 17 when, according to witnesses, it suddenly sped up and crossed into the southbound lanes. Heading the wrong way in the southbound lanes, the 1999 F-350 then struck head-on a southbound 2003 Ford F-350 pickup.
