QUANTICO, Va. –– Military jets will fly over the Potomac Communities today as part of a training exercise.
Quantico Marine Corps Base said F/A-18 Hornet jets could bring additional noise to the region today between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The aircraft will fly at low altitudes, which will provide good viewing for lunchtime air show fans.
QUANTICO, Va. — Two helicopters were called this morning to fly two injured patients to a hospital following a crash.
The crashed happened in the northbound lanes of Interstate 95 at Quantico at 8:21 a.m., said Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Need a free flu shot? Just drive through.
The Virginia Department of Health will give 900 free flu shots to those who come to a drive-through clinic at the Prince William County Government Center between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. The shots will be administered in the parking lot in front of the McCoart Government Center at 1 County Complex Court in Woodbridge.
The college’s first 5K Hustle 2 Health is the first time a 5K run will be held at the campus at 15200 Neabsco Mills Road near Stonebridge at Potomac Town Center. The run will help promote healthy living to college students as well raise money for scholarships.
“This is truly a community event and we have partnered with the Prince William Chamber of Commerce, Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, and Prince William Parks & Recreation,” said campus spokeswoman Heather Witmer.
OCCOQUAN, Va. — Occoquan is one of the prettiest painted places in America.
The Paint Quality Institute for the third time since the 1990s has reviewed historic downtown areas that use and ranked them on what unique paint schemes they use to express the town. The national competition is called the “Prettiest Painted Places in America,” and more than 200 historic districts, main streets, and downtowns are competing in the competition.

The county’s sheriff’s office today distributed surveillance photos of the two men that investigators said walked into a 7-Eleven at 1 Commerce Parkway in south Stafford at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday, produced handguns, and then demanded cash.
The store clerk took out cash drawer from the register, placed it on the counter, and the armed intruders took the money from the drawer and fled, said sheriff’s spokesman Bill Kennedy.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A problem in Norfolk has found a solution in Prince William County.
