Republican Delegate Mark Cole of Stafford County doesn’t like the idea of voters using a utility bill or check as an acceptable form of voter identification.
Cole told Fredericksburg.com a new bill he introduced would ban the use of such forms of ID at polls in Virginia.

Now, our Prince William County School Board and administration face similar questions in preparing the budget for 2013-14 and beyond. Fortunately, we share the desire to continue Providing A World-Class Education for all students. That does not necessarily require extra spending. Still, public support is needed; and that demands understanding of the complex issues and facts involved.
OCCOQUAN, Va. — In Occoquan, the cash registers were ringing on Small Business Saturday.
Shoppers lined the streets to kick-off the Christmas shopping season and to support local merchants – something this town has plenty of.
Today is Small Business Saturday. It’s a chance for the spotlight to switch from yesterdays deluge of deals at malls and big box chain stores to mom and pop stores across the region.
While there is nothing small about American Express – the sponsor and largest promoter of Small Business Saturday – lots of small businesses are taking part today.
OCCOQUAN, Va. — Don’t go to Occoquan on Saturday to see Santa. Unlike most years, he won’t be arriving by boat this Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
The town changed the time in which the jolly old elf arrives in Occoquan via watercraft from this Saturday to Dec. 1.

Indecent Exposure – On November 21st at 12:46PM, police responded to the area of Maryland Ave and Enterprise Ln in Woodbridge (22191) for an indecent exposure. The victims, both 16 year old females of Woodbridge, reported to police that they were walking in the area above when they observed an unknown male exit a red, newer vehicle and expose himself. After exposing himself, the suspect reentered his vehicle and fled the scene. The victims were unable to provide police with a description of the male other than noting that he was a younger looking, light skinned male.

NORTH STAFFORD, Va. — What should we call it: Thanksgiving Day or Black Thursday?
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Featherstone National Wildlife Refuge opened with fanfare last year, marking the first time since the refuge’s founding the refuge in 1979 the public was welcome on the 325-acre property.
But that fanfare later prompted questions when word spread that the only legal way to access the property was by non-motorized watercraft from the Potomac River. In others words, if you were going to the Featherstone refuge you’d better bring a paddle.
