Virtual Artist Talk in Honor of Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month, on Saturday, Feb. 5, 2022, from 11 a.m. to noon, the Prince William County Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., (PWCAC DST) will host a virtual artist talk featuring Mr. James Brown, Jr.

Brown’s exhibit, titled Capricorn Planetary Alignment 2020-2021, will be featured throughout February at the ARTfactory (formerly Prince William Center for the Arts) in Manassas, VA, in honor of Black History Month.

Brown creates his art in several mediums from works on paper to textiles of different fibers. He embroiders, does hand stitching, paints on silk and has embraced the process of painting with wool fibers, or felting.

Brown is a traditionalist and visionary. He believes we are spiritual beings connected to the universe and says his dreams play a tremendous part in influencing his work.

Join PWCAC DST on Feb. 5, from 11 a.m. to 12 noon, to learn more as James Brown, Jr. discusses being an artist, shares his work and process, and answers your questions.
