Eager children and their families looking to experience the joy and magic of the holiday season can do so this month and next at Potomac Mills.

From now through December 24th, children can visit and be photographed with Santa in the Grant Court near TJMaxx and the Children’s Play area. Hours of operations are Monday through Thursday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.


November is National Adoption Month in America, a time when our nation celebrates and raises awareness about adoption. While all adoption stories are important, the particular focus of this month is the adoption of children currently in foster care.

There are millions of orphans all over the world who desperately need families. Here in America, there are also children who don’t have the love and security of a stable family.


On Saturday November 28,- Nyea’s Party Store will participate in the Sixth Annual Small Business Saturday to support independent businesses in Woodbridge.

The Haymarket Regional Food Pantry (HRFP) has joined #GivingTuesday, a global day of giving that harnesses the collective power of individuals, communities and organizations to encourage philanthropy and celebrate generosity.

Giving Tuesday is held each year after Black Friday and Cyber Monday on the first Tuesday after Thanksgiving. This year’s event falls on December 1, 2015. This special day of giving was created to inspire people to collaborate in improving their local communities and give back in impactful ways to the charities and causes they support.

On Saturday, October 17, hundreds joined together at Pfitzner Stadium in Woodbridge to raise funds and awareness for families struggling to make ends meet. The 5th Annual IWALK for ACTS, hosted by ACTS of Prince William and Image Church, raised $44,000 to support ACTS programs and services.

“We are beyond grateful for the outpouring of support from the community for the 5th Annual IWALK for ACTS,” said Steve Liga, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director at ACTS. “Thank you to Image Church for leading the effort. Funds raised will make a direct impact for individuals facing crises in our community.”


Sean Arroyo and his brother, both Veterans, founded Heritage Brewing Co. in 2013 with a brand to match their love of country.

The names of their flagship brews (i.e. “American Expedition,” “Freedom Isn’t Free”) and the larger-than-life American flag hanging in their taproom are representations of the values that run deep in their company.


The Manassas Church of the Brethren is excited to host a concert by the advanced choirs of Longwood University. The concert will be held on Friday, November 13 at 7:30 pm.

Dr. Pamela McDermott, a native of Prince William County, is the conductor and Katie Fountain is a member of the ensemble.
