LAKE RIDGE, Va.  – For the fifth consecutive year, Holiness Tabernacle Church Of God In Christ is sponsoring “‘Tis the Season to Give Thanks,” – and giving away free turkeys for the Thanksgiving holiday, November 23 beginning at 10 a.m., while supplies last.

Members of the Lake Jackson/Mid-County Lions Club, recently attended the 59th annual Fall Conference for District 24-A. Gloria Wilson, Joe Angsten, Joe Blatter, Judy and Russ Holt were among more than 200 Lions who participated in the conference that drew representatives from clubs across Northern Virginia.

MANASSAS, Va. – You can order SHARE food packages for Thanksgiving now through Nov. 11 at the House of Mercy. The nonprofit humanitarian organization’s November SHARE menu includes a selection of quality holiday foods at about half the price families would pay in the grocery store, according to House of Mercy Assistant Director Ann Cimini.

MANASSAS, Va. – Effective immediately the House of Mercy is providing free food to federal employees and contract workers affected by the government shutdown that took effect Oct. 1.

The nonprofit humanitarian organization’s offer also extends to all employees affected by recent sequestration, said House of Mercy Assistant Director Ann Cimini. The only proof required to receive free food is an employee identification, she said.
