A familiar face in Prince William County is running to lead the Virginia Republican Party.
Anderson’s statement | Today, former Virginia state delegate and retired 30-year Air Force Colonel Richard L. (Rich) Anderson announced that he is a candidate for election as chairman of the Republican Party of Virginia (RPV). This year, Virginia Republicans will elect a state party chairman for a four-year term at the 2020 RPV Quadrennial State Convention on May 1-2 in Lynchburg.

Delegate Lee Carter (D-50, Bristow, Manassas) filed legislation to legalize marijuana for those who are aged 21 and older.
The bill, HB87, will go before the General Assembly in Richmond, which convenes on Jan. 8, and states:

Glen Hill clinched a fifth term as Prince William County’s sheriff, forcing a concession from his opponent.
On Election night Tuesday, Nov. 5, it had appeared Hill had lost the election to Josh King, a Democrat who won Prince William County by a half-point in the polls.
Diane Raulston aims to keep her seat on the Prince William County School Board, and says the work to reduce or remove classroom trailers needs to continue.

Shawn Brann is running to be the next Brentsville District Representative on the Prince William County School Board. If elected, he would replace Gil Trenum, who is not seeing reelection.
Brann temporarily replaced Trenum on the School Board in 2016 when the U.S. Navy deployed Trenum to Africa. Brann ceded the seat upon Trenum’s return the next year.
