Our beautiful, strong, caring and loving, wife, mother, sister, Ma and friend Frances (Fran) Laskofski, age 70 passed away at home on Thursday, December 24, 2020.  She was surrounded by lots of love and her family.

Fran was born to the late Paul and Connie Arcudi on December 30, 1949.  Born and raised in Pittston, Pennsylvania, she grew up with two older sisters, Connie and Janie, and was also close with her large extended family.  She attended Wilkes University, where she received a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and took graduate courses in education.

Mr. Lekites left this earth with a multitude of many friends and even more bowling friends. Mr. Lekites was one of the best bowlers ever in the Washington D.C. area. Mr. Lekites left a legacy as a great friend, human being, father, and one of this countries greatest assets being an Intelligence Analyst of 32 years with the Defense Intelligence Agency during the most crucial time in this countries history. He will be sorely missed by many of his co-workers and the entire Intelligence Community.

A Prince William County Sheriff’s deputy has been fired for making “disturbing comments” on social media accounts, Sheriff Glendell Hill said Saturday.

Manassas National Battlefield Park plans to lease 13 agricultural properties in Prince William County. The application process opens today, Dec. 28, 2020 and applications must be received by Feb. 15, 2021.

Five Prince William County police officers involved in a shooting outside Dumfries did nothing wrong, the county’s Commonwealth Attorney determined. 

The officers were dispatched to the Four Seasons, a gated retirement community just off Route 234 at 7:15 p.m. December 10, after a woman reported her husband Kurtis Kay Frevert, 79, was armed with a gun and was threatening suicide.

More than 20 people have already applied to replace Dr. Steven L. Walts, one of the longest-serving public school superintendents in Virginia.

Walts has led the Prince William County Public Schools for the past 15 years and will retire on July 1, 2021. The Prince William County School Board on December 17 voted unanimously to approve a candidate profile, which is intended to has made it clear to applicants what qualities it’s looking for in Walts’ replacement.
