DALE CITY, Va. — A new Americans in Wartime Museum hopes planes and tanks will draw automobiles.

Groundwork preparation for the $80 million facility has already begun on a 70-acre site behind a K-Mart store on Dale Boulevard in Dale City. The museum, once complete, will tell the story of people who fought in every U.S. war since World War I, as well as first responders on the homefront, featuring fully restored military vehicles, a “landscapes of war” exhibit that will allow visitors to experience what war fighting conditions were like on the ground and in the trenches, and the museum will feature tours and lectures led by wartime veterans.


PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — Police in Prince William County asked anyone who saw the fatal crash involving Motor Officer Chris Yung to come forward with details.

Investigators are hoping to learn more about the crash that took the life of the 35-year-old police veteran on New Year’s Eve. Yung was responding to a separate crash with lights and sirens activated on his police motorcycle when he collided with a minivan on Va. 28 and Piper Lane near Manassas. The two occupants inside the van were not injured and no charges have been filed in the crash.

DALE CITY, Va. — On the day NHL players and league officials broke the ice on a new deal to end a nearly five month player lockout, one of the greatest to ever play the game came to Dale City to give back.


MANASSAS, Va. — Helicopters will be buzzing once again in the Manassas area on Monday.

This time, pilots will be flying the choppers with crews from Dominion Virginia Power onboard. They’ll be checking power lines, and replacing insulators on those transmission lines in the area, said Dominion Virginia Power spokeswoman Le-Ha Anderson.

STAFFORD, Va. — Students in Stafford County went back to school for the first time Wednesday after a long winter break.

Waiting to greet them was a new directive from county Sheriff Charles E. Jett which will bring a increased presence of sheriff’s deputies in schools. Now, every deputy in Stafford County has been instructed to stop into schools located along their beat. Their mission: get to know students, faculty, staff, and build a stronger relationship with the educational community.
