MANASSAS, Va. — The sights and sounds of the 2013 Prince William County Fair filled the Manassas air Friday night.
In its 64th year, the fair began. its week-long run at the county fairgrounds complex on Va. 234 with half-price admission night, games, carnival rides, and a demolition derby.

I first read about an Elio in an article that reported the purchase of a defunct General Motors factory in Shreveport, Louisiana. The factory had been closed after production of the Hummer ceased as Americans discovered just looking cool may not be reason to invest the price of a small home into a vehicle that guzzles gas like a sponge soaks up water.
As part of its month-long fundraising initiative for Special Olympics Virginia, CiCi’s Pizza will host “Dough Raisers” events at participating* locations across the state on Tuesday, Aug. 13. During the event, CiCi’s guests will be challenged to purchase enough Special Olympics paper logos to cover an entire law enforcement vehicle. All proceeds from the $1 logos will go to Special Olympics Virginia.
Since Aug. 1, CiCi’s guests have been able to purchase and personalize Special Olympics logos, which are displayed in restaurants throughout the state. Guests also can donate $5 to the cause and in return receive a voucher for a free regular sized drink. Both fundraising initiatives will continue through the month.

Police said the body found today in the Occoquan River is that of a missing mother of two, 31-year-old Andrea Crew.
Crew’s 25-year-old husband Caleb is now charged in her death.
MANASSAS, Va. — Giving a solid answer on his view of the Bi-County Parkway, Virginia Attorney General and Virginia Republican Gubernatorial candidate Ken Cuccinelli supports the Bi-County Parkway between Interstate 95 in Dumfries and Dulles Airport.
“With the tremendous growth in Loudoun, and Prince William County, and the region, we need new transportation options, but the current proposal on the table is unacceptable,” said Cuccinelli. “We cannot be closing roads down just so we can build a new road…we need all the transportation options we can get.”
