“All Is Lost” has nothing to do with the Obama Administration. It’s the latest Robert Redford (“The Company You Keep”) vehicle, and this time it’s a boat. This movie is the brainchild of Writer/Director J.C. Chandor (“Margin Call”), and for some reason he needed the 77-year-old Redford to pull it off.
PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. — A total of 31 people were arrested in a special police operation this week dubbed “Operation Blue Dragon.”
The suspects are accused of taking to the streets to buy prescription narcotics and heroin, according to police.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — A man was shot in the head during a robbery at a tobacco store in Woodbridge.

PRINCE WILLIAM COUNTY, Va. – From national headlines to state discussion, standardized testing has been a hot topic among educators, parents and the general public as a whole. Are standardized tests, or the SOLs as they’re known in Virginia, the right option to track the performance of our students, teachers and schools? Are there better alternatives? Or is the current education system responsible for “overtesting” students and putting extra pressure on teachers?
On Wednesday night, the Prince William Committee of 100 held a dinner and forum to address the use of SOLs and consideration of other standards for Prince William County Schools and Virginia as a whole. One of the most notable alternatives that was discussed was the Common Core, an educational initiative across the nation that sets the bar for math and English at the K-12 levels. Northern Virginia Community College Woodbridge Campus Provost Dr. Sam Hill moderated the event. He says that the basis of a thriving community comes down to the quality of education.
What was once a pizza restaurant known for deep dish is now a Bonefish Grill, and it’s serving up robust flavor.
The restaurant chain expanded to Woodbridge and opened its doors on Monday. Inside, gone are the old reminders of the Uno Chicago Grill that used to be housed here, and closed earlier this year.
WOODBRIDGE, Va. — School buses cannot leave Potomac View Elementary School in Woodbridge this afternoon.
School officials said all students are safe but a fire in a nearby neighborhood has blocked off the routes out of the school.

MANASSAS, Va. — The Greater Prince William Community Health Center will open a second location thanks to a federal grant.
The clinic in Woodbridge that provides free or low-cost healthcare will expand to Manassas and is expected to open at 9705 Liberia Avenue, next to the Continental Events Center, and where University of Phoenix once housed its Northern Virginia campus.
