Elections officials in Prince William County want more people to vote absentee.

The Office will hold an information session Saturday, June 11, 2016, at 9 a.m. at the Prince William County Government Center McCoart Building.


Here’s what I know. on Tuesday morning, it was discovered that the senior rock at Forest Park High School had been vandalized with racial graffiti. The graffiti was covered with paint, and the school began investigating.

The following day a student and her parent painted over the rock in a white primer base coat, and school colors were to be subsequently painted over that. However, Wednesday night the rock was vandalized again. It was painted over with a metallic gold paint with the word “Better?”


From 95 Express Lanes: 

The northbound 95 Express Lanes and I-395 high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes will close weekdays at 10 a.m. for the morning reversal beginning Friday, June 10.  The early closure will enable southbound travelers to enter the 95 Express Lanes around 11:30 a.m., one hour earlier than the current schedule.  Overnight weekday reversals will continue to take place from about midnight to 2 a.m.  


The Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Virginia traveled Route 1 south today.

The torch began the day in Fairfax County before crossing the Occoquan River and entering Prince William County about 2:30 p.m. Today’s torch run ended at Quantico Marine Corps Base, according to the torch run route map.


Joshua Sumter broke into his mother’s house in Stafford County at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, according to investigators.

The 18-year-old did not have permission to be at the home, and the victim called 911, according to Stafford County Sheriff’s spokeswoman M.C. Moncure.


A mother claims her daughter was neglected while staying in a group home in Woodbridge.

Investigators with Virginia’s Department of Social Services say the mother’s allegations could have merit, but then closed an investigation into the matter.
