From Manassas City: 

City of Manassas voters will see a few new changes in the next election cycle.  Because the number of voters at the various polling places has grown, a voting precinct has been added at George C. Round Elementary School.  City residents will receive a voter registration letter in the coming month that will include residents’ voting precinct information.

The community has engaged in debate over naming the new elementary school under construction in the Potomac Shores Community. Prince William County is blessed to have two wonderful choices for the school naming: Betty Covington and John Harper.


From VRE: 

The VRE Operations Board considers fare increases every two years to offset expected increases in operating costs.   This year, we are proposing a three percent fare increase to help pay for increased costs associated with rising track access fees, labor and maintenance costs, and other contractual obligations.


STAFFORD, Va. — A new funding mechanism is in place to save two lakeside dams.

The Stafford County Board of Supervisors voted 7-0 for the Lake Arrowhead Service District. The body will be in charge of overseeing a county-issued loan of at least as $540,000 to repair two dams that hold back waters in two lakes — Big, and Little Lake Arrowhead — neglected since 2005 when the community’s property owners association disbanded.
