Alvenia was born on February 8, 1931, to Marie Olle Shaw and Thomas Henry Jackson in Detroit, Michigan.  She was the second of five children, three sisters and a brother; Arletta (preceded in death), Jacqueline (Jackie), Marie (Tootie)(preceded her in death),  and Mell (preceded her in death).  Alvenia attended Higginbottham ES, Post Junior High and Cooley HS in Detroit, Michigan.  She also attended college.  Alvenia accepted Christ at an early age.  She attended New Prospect Baptist Church on Wisconsin St, Detroit, Michigan, where she was baptized and sang in the choir.  Alvenia’s first job was at SS Kresge Retail Store. She worked as the head cook at their lunch counter. While working there, she introduced her Stuffed Cabbage recipe to the store.  While working at this store, she met and married Donald Christian Reeves Sr (preceded her in death). From that union there were four children born;  Donald C. Reeves Jr (preceded her in death), Gary R. Reeves (preceded her in death), Sharon P. Reeves (Pindle) and Randy Reeves (preceded her in death).

Alvenia loved singing and cooking.  She was always singing while she was cooking. She also loved to travel and shop, especially on QVC.


Marion D. Harris, 78, passed away on December 18, 2020 at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.  Born Marion Moize Drummond on February 28, 1942, daughter of Samuel M. Drummond and Vivian M. Drummond, both deceased.  She later took the nickname of ‘Terri’, because she felt anybody with her name should not be a tomboy like she was!

She is survived by her beloved husband, Frank W. Harris, III; her children Charles S. Peters, Jr. (Linda), Samuel L. Peters and Sallie E. Day (John); her step-children Frank W. Harris, IV (Elaine), Christian B. Harris (Cathy), Abigail M. Harris (Edward Shea); her grandchildren and step-grandchildren Jennifer E. Day, Joshua Peters, Chanel Peters, Samuel Peters, Paul Peters, Kayla Jackson, Abigail Harris-Shea, Katie Harris Solms (John), Christina Schubert (Steve), Frank W. Harris, V (Bonnie), and Wyatt Harris (Hilary); and a host of other relatives and friends.  She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law, Jennifer Peters.


Gary Charles Lepore, age 67 of Manassas, VA passed away peacefully on December 20, 2020 surrounded by his loved ones. He is survived by his loving wife Maudie Lepore, one daughter Angela (David), three sons Joey, Michael (Nardy), Matthew (Mari) and 4 grandchildren Ava, Elijah, Adriana and Natalia. Three brothers, George Lepore (Delores), Dan Lepore (Karen), Tim Lepore (Sandy), one sister Robin Lutz (Steve) and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father George Elviro Lepore, mother Jean Myers, and sister Patty Lepore.

Gary was born on January 4, 1953 in Altoona, PA. He graduated from Altoona Area High School in June 1971. He then went on to serve in the United States Army for 6 years with a tour in Korea. He was Honorably discharged and went on to work for the Defense Intelligence Agency and was highly skilled in maintaining the stability of large modem main frames. To expand his knowledge and experience he was assigned to work in the Central Intelligence Agency on their computer systems. With his technical skills he was often called upon regardless of time to help correct computer outages. Gary was a very devoted technician and very easy to work with. He was well liked by everyone and enjoyed his many friends in the D.I.A and C.I.A. He retired after serving 35 years in Defense of the Nation.


William G. Kelly, 91, of Dale City, died December 21, 2020 in his home.

The family will receive friends  11am Monday, January 4, 2021 at Mountcastle Turch Funeral Home, followed by the Life Celebration service at 12pm.  Interment will follow at Quantico National Cemetery at 2pm.
