Deborah Marie (Theroux) Gombar, 71 years old, a longtime resident of Montclair, Virginia died early Friday morning, January 1st at home. Fortunately she did not pass alone as so many have this past year. Ron Mravinec, her devoted partner was by her side.
She was born March 29, 1949 and raised in Agawam, Massachusetts, the daughter of the late Agnes Hazel (Theroux) O’Brien and Lawrence Theroux. She graduated from Agawam High School and Chamberlayne Junior College in Boston.

Born on March 13, 1971 in Omaha, Nebraska, Dereck Wayne Jackson was the second-born son of Archie J. Jackson (deceased) and Lizzie M. Jackson, and brother of Reginald Earl (deceased) and Demetria Denise. An Air Force family, the Jacksons traveled globally including spending eight years in Athens, Greece. Dereck considered Athens his second home and it was the place he would meet many life-long friends and his future wife. The Jackson family eventually settled in San Antonio, Texas where Dereck would attend Judson high school.
Dereck was uniquely Dereck. It would be impossible to sum up the totality of him. He was a master storyteller, food lover and culinary specialist, animal lover and rescuer, music enthusiast, entertainer and traveler. Dereck entered a room unabashedly fully himself and instantly it was awash with his booming contagious laugh. With him, love was tangible and palpable and where others saw the fallibilities, imperfections and cracks in people, he was free of judgement, condemnation and criticism and saw the cracks as potential spaces for light.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Peter Michael Dolan, Jr. of Manassas, VA share the news of his passing on January 5, 2021 at the age of 52.
Pete was raised in Williamstown, MA where he attended the Pine Cobble School. He graduated from the Williston Northampton School in 1986 and from Hamilton College in 1990, where he met his wife Karen. After college, Pete worked as a zoning administrator and land use planner before attending law school. He graduated from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago, cum laude, where he was Lead Articles Editor for the Law Review. Following his law school graduation in 1996, Pete worked as an attorney in Denver before moving to Virginia. For the last 19 years Pete’s legal career was with Walsh, Colucci, Lubeley & Walsh, P.C. in their Prince William County location where he served most recently as Managing Shareholder. In his leadership of the Land Use & Zoning Practice group, Pete’s legacy of work had a significant impact on Prince William County. He genuinely loved his job and had the highest regard for his “work family” of trusted colleagues, mentors and friends. He also believed in personally giving his time to the broader community in which he lived and worked. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for the Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center, as Chairman of Board of Directors for the Prince William County Chamber of Commerce, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Prince William County Boys & Girls Club, and as a member of the Prince William DCSM/Zoning Ordinance Advisory Committee. Pete dedicated his time to numerous service and charitable organizations, served as a guest lecturer for George Mason University graduate programs and as a moderator for industry events.
On January 3, 2021, another angel gained her wings. Denise Danielle Collins, 41, of Rock Hill, SC passed away peacefully at her parent’s home at 4:45 p.m.
Jacqueline Geschickter of 10800 Harley Rd in Lorton, VA went to be with the Lord on Monday January 4th after a brief illness. She is preceded in death by her father Charles Freeman Geschickter, mother Mildred Clark Geschickter, and brother Edmond “Ned” Geschickter. She is survived by her brother Charles “Bunky” Geschickter, Jr. and 7 nieces and nephews.
Above all, Jackie loved and was a fierce protector of her family farm where she was always comforted by the many dogs, including Emma, her last, who were her faithful companions throughout her life.
