Devereux Dennis Palmer (Denny), 68, of Lake Ridge, Va. passed away on 11 April 2021.

Denny was born in Washington, D.C. to Devereux and Maryann Palmer (O’Brien) on 29 Oct. 1952. He attended Wheaton High School in Maryland. He married Jeannette Clinton on 1 January 1992 in Manassas. Denny attended MD. Community college for two years. He worked and supervised maintenance activities at Quantico Marine base for fifteen years and was self-employed with a food truck business for about eight years prior to retirement. He was a veteran of the Vietnam era war serving in the Navy and was awarded the good conduct medal and the National Defense Service medal. He was involved in service at the Dale City VFW where he supervised activities and provided security measures for several gun shows.

April 8th, 2021, at the age of 63, in Dumfries, VA, Donald Vaughn Jr. left his family home to be with our father in heaven. He was born on April 28th, 1957 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. A beloved father, brother, son, and friend, he lived!

He enjoyed traveling, skiing as a member of the National Brotherhood of Skiers, and teaching others how to become masters of their own reality. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University The Behrend College with degrees in mathematics and engineering, was inducted into the PSU basketball hall of fame in 1994, earned two masters degrees, served in the US Army, Marines, and Marine and Army National Guard, was a certified electrical engineer, an industrial engineer, Sigma Six certified, licensed financial advisor and other certifications, has thousands of hours within the professional world and an immeasurable amount of fruitful relationships forged along the way. Donald lived his life the way everyone hopes to be living theirs and loved his family.

Senior Chief Spencer Wallac Sagudan (USN-Retired), 82, of Triangle, Virginia and Hesperia, California passed away peacefully at home (Virginia) on April 5, 2021 after his brave battles with prostate cancer. Nancy Carol Tierney was an incredible wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She passed away on March 31, 2021 at the age of 73 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family who will honor her by living their lives to the fullest.

On May 11, 1947, Kenneth and Allene Hauck received a Mother’s Day blessing when Nancy was born. Nancy grew up in Arlington and Springfield, VA before moving to Virginia Beach. A wildly intelligent and dedicated student, she graduated near the top of her class from Robert E. Lee High School (now John R. Lewis High School) in Springfield, VA and went on to obtain a B.A. in History from the College of William & Mary where she was a member of the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. After teaching in the Virginia Beach public school system and working with her father at the American Truckers Association, she worked as a legal assistant at the international law firm Holland & Knight for over 30 years before retiring in 2015.

Dr. Nafzinger passed away on April 27, 2020, in Hastings, Mich.

Ida J. Myrick, 75, died April 8, 2021 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital. She was born August 27, 1945 to the late Walter and Bessie Mae Myrick. She is survived by her devoted son, Charles L. Davis (Gina); and her grandchildren, Jaxson and Maddox Davis.

She was a faithful member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Senior Ministry until her health began to fail.

Phillip Paul Klemmer, age 55, of Dale City, Virginia passed away on March 31, 2021.

Phillip was born in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on June 8, 1965. He graduated from Nurnberg American High School, Nurnberg Germany in 1984 where he was an All-Europe football player. He briefly attended college at Norwich University in Vermont, where he was commonly known as “Budda”, and Slippery Rock University in Pennsylvania.
