Annette Shelton Crites, 90, of Manassas, passed away January 12, 2014 after a lengthy illness.

Born January 27, 1923 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late William E. Chaillet and Lena R. Shelton Chaillet. On June 23, 1946, she married Llewellyn L. Crites, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 26, 2003.


Cleon “Clink” A. Cole Sr., 83, of Catlett, VA passed away peacefully on January 14, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Clink was born July 12, 1930 in Vermont, son of Evelyn Cole. He enjoyed fishing, riding his motorcycle, going to yard sales, traveling, camping and skating. In 1955, he met Florence Elizabeth Cohen at a roller skating rink and they were married 6 months later on November 7, 1955 at a Baptist Church in MD. Together they have lived in Alexandria, Arlington, Manassas Park, and Manassas and settled in Catlett, VA.

Clink was in the Army for 4 years. After he got out of the Army he worked for Perrin and Martin Sheet Metal then continued working with sheet metal with VA Heating and Air, Hensley and Associates and TLC Heating and Air. Clink was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved being around his family and his puppies; he always had a puppy in his arms. His sense of humor will long be remembered.

Susan Diane Robinson, age 58 of Woodbridge, VA, passed away Friday January 17, 2014, after a long battle with breast cancer. Mrs. Robinson was born September 17, 1955 in Leesburg, VA. She was preceded in death by both of her parents, James E. Smallwood, Sr. and Mildred Gregg Schuler, and brother James E. Smallwood, Jr.

Dear brother of Junior Morris, Ronnie Morris, Donnie Morris, Bobby Morris, Clarence Morris, Mary Adlakha, Nancy Bowers, Sue Chapman, Patricia Blanchard, Laverne Sprouse, Genevie Shifflett, Brenda Roach, and Debra Morrris. Adored uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by father Russell Morris, mother Elizabeth Morris, son Danny Earl Morris, and a sister Elaine Shifflett.


Linda Ann Torres, age 63, of Woodbridge, VA passed away on January 14, 2014 at INOVA Fairfax Hospital.

Linda was born on July 31, 1950 in Providence, RI to the late Ivan and Ursula Gardner. Linda graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor’s degree. She loved to read, cook,and listen to music, especially the oldies. Linda had a caretaker personality and was very caring and giving, always thinking of others and helping others.


Obituary for Marguerite S Ragon

Marguerite S. Ragon, 94, passed away at her Woodbridge home surrounded by family and care taker. Marguerite was born and raised in Alexandria and lived her whole life in the Northern Virginia area. Marguerite was an accountant for 32 years at the Department of Corrections Lorton Prison. Marguerite was also a member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows and Rebekahs for 70 years.


Robert L. Riffe, 84 of Locust Grove, Va. died peacefully at his home on September 26 of heart failure. Bob is survived by his wife Jean of 62 years. He is survived by his sons Robert (Pam), Richmond; Brian (Pam), Fairfax Station; Timothy (Robin), Lake of the Woods; and Steven, Jeannette, PA; 12 grandchildren– Rene’, Matthew, Karen, Daniel, Erin, Richard, Michelle, Christopher, Steven, Sean, Samuel, and Cole; and 3 great grandchildren—Lennox, Gabriel, and Norah. He was preceded in death by his brothers Phillip and Noel “Babe” and is survived by his sister Betty Lou Daniel of Lester, WV.

Robert was the son of Haskell O. Riffe and Beatrice (Richmond) Riffe of Lester, WV (near Beckley). Bob attended Beckley College on a basketball scholarship. After marriage in 1951, Bob served in the US Army and was stationed in Germany. Upon return to the United States, Bob worked first as an Electronics Technician at Melpar and later at the Night Vision Laboratories, Department of the Army at Ft. Belvoir, VA, retiring in 1993.
