Obituary for Ellis B. Hawkins

Ellis B. Hawkins, 84, of Woodbridge, VA, passed away on March 10, 2014. Beloved husband of 5 years to Jane Hawkins. He was predeceased by his late wife Frances. Loving father of Frances Olds (Michael), Nancy Chryst (John), Diana Hawkins, and the late Ellis B. Hawkins, Jr. Step Father of the late Scott Mercer, Theresa Wilhide (Brian). His daughter-in-laws Denise Hawkins and Teruyo Mercer still survive. Cherished grandfather of Venus Denk (Dennis). Step grandfather of Zachary Wilhide, Gregory, Bethany and Andrew Mercer, Jonathan and Marshall “Cody” Chryst. Great grandfather of Maddilynn Denk. Step great grandfather of Evan, Isaac, Aiden and Cade Mercer. Dear brother of the late Clagett Hawkins. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Hawkins was actively involved in the St. Paul United Methodist Church Building Fund. The family will receive friends at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1400 G Street, Woodbridge, VA 22191 on Saturday, March 15, 2014 from 9 am until time of service at 10. Reverend Larry Craddock – Officiating. Interment will be on Monday, March 17, 2014 at 11AM at Fairfax Memorial Park. Please assemble at the cemetery office. Christopher W. Brown, 53 of Woodbridge, VA died on March 7, 2014 at Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center.

He was born on September 25, 1960 in Indiana. With 24 years of dedication to the Prince William County Service Authority, he was the supervisor of the Meter Department. Christopher was an avid Cubs fan, and baseball was more than a sport to him, it was a lifestyle. He was a great bowling coach and also loved to bowl. His dog Millie was a true friend that he loved. He treasured his family; loved to BBQ and his pride and joy was “Snuffy”, his yellow Challenger. He also enjoyed touring wineries with his wife.

Pauline Bowen Penn 72, of Woodbridge, VA was called to Heaven on March 8 2014.

Born in Louisville, KY on March 8, 1942 to John and Alfredia Bowen. Pauline was one of three children, her fraternal twin Aline Fauntleroy and Joyce Burrell (deceased).

Richard Charles Morrow of Gainesville, Virginia passed away at his residence on Thursday, March 6, 2014 after a prolonged illness. He was 73 years old.

He was born on February 13, 1941 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Charles Ross Morrow and Lucille Morrow. He married Dolores Jean Morrow on July 26, 1965.

Paul Lee Campbell, 48, of Manassas, VA, passed away Tuesday, March 4th, 2014.

He is survived by his father, David Campbell; mother, Helen Ensor; three sisters, Linda Shortridge, Kristine Shortridge and Audra Courtney and many nieces and nephews.

Rainer Karl Korb, 75, of Haymarket, passed away unexpectedly February 28, 2014 at the Novant Health – Prince William Medical Center.

Born April 3, 1938 in Stuttgart, Germany, he was the son of Karl and Bertha Rogner Korb. On February 12, 1966 in Queens, NY, he married the former Carol Smith, who survives.

Thomas Leonard Hawkins, 77, of Manassas, Virginia, passed away February 27, 2014. His final days were spent surrounded by his family.

Tom was born on October 7, 1936 in Washington, D.C. to Eugene and Elizabeth Hawkins. He married Janice Schnelle, October 14, 1966.

Mr. Rudolph “Rudy” Hendrix of Raeford, N.C. died Thursday, March 6, 2014 in his home at the age of 62.

Mr. Hendrix was born in Scotland County on June 4, 1951. He was preceded in death by his mother, Lillian Sebald Hendrix and his brother, Randy Williamson. A graduate of Hoke County High School, Rudy served in the U.S. Air Force and later graduated from the Northern Virginia Police Academy. He began working with the Prince William County Police Department and retired as a criminal investigator. Upon his retirement he moved back home to Raeford in 2005 and joined the Patriot Guard Riders and the Blue Knights where he served as Road Captain.

Mary Louise “MaryLou” Burns, 81, of Lorton, VA, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2014. Beloved wife of 63 years to Bernard “Bernie” Burns. Loving mother of Patricia Wolfen (Jim), Nancy Dunevant (Sam) and Shirley Gordon (Bob). Dear sister of Ralph Mangum. Cherished grandmother of 7 and great grandmother of 7. Gary C. Williams, of Lake Ridge, passed away March 6, 2014 at Sentara Potomac Hospital. Gary was born in 1958 in Idaho. He touched and saved many lives in the rooms and throughout the community. He gave hope to those who had none and brought many to Christ.

Gary is survived by his adoring wife Patty, his treasured boys Cameron and Jordan (and their mother). He loved his sister Linda, her children Julie and Laurie, husband Nick, children Sam, Jolene, and Susanna: and sister Anita, children Jessica and Nate. He is also survived by step-mother Sandi and his best friend Tom and wife Ellen, and his mentor Gary and wife Pat. He is preceded in death by his parents Jodi and Gerald and sister Candy. He was a small business owner of Belmont Power Equipment in Newington, VA. He will be remembered by Bob his business partner and the rest of the family at Belmont. His hobbies include music, kayaking and hiking. He was very loyal to and loved at Woodbridge Group.
