Catherine Anne O’Quinn, age 65, of Manassas, VA, passed away on March 19, 2017. She is survived by her husband of 38 years Everett "Ray" O’Quinn of Manassas, VA. Three children Kevin and Patrick O’Quinn of Manassas, VA, and Katie Ko of Midlothian, VA. Two step-children, Keith O’Quinn of Roanoke, VA, and Sherry Borecky of Woodbridge, VA. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; Robert John, David, Courtney, Kenneth, Matthew, Sebastian and Penelope, and one great granddaughter; Madisyn.

Cathy was born and raised in New Jersey, and never lost her love of the Jersey shore. She found her calling in special education, and received her Masters of Science in Education from Old Dominion University. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She will always be missed by all who knew her.


Shirley Aldridge Hoff age 75, of Greenville, Ohio, and of Woodbridge, Virginia, passed away on the morning of March 9, 2017, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana, after fighting a short battle with colon cancer. She was surrounded by her daughters and her husband, and had been visited in her last days by those with whom she was close. Shirley was born June 18, 1941, in Brookville, Ohio, to the late Robert Eugene (Sr.) & Onda Fae (Hopper) Matthews. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Milton Dale Aldridge, and her brother, Larry R. Matthews.

Shirley is survived by her husband, Dr. Frederic L. Hoff; daughters & sons-in-law, Jennifer & Dan Bozone of Florida, Rachael Aldridge of Virginia, and Gretchen & Luigi Morfea of New York; step daughters & son-in-law, Michelle & Kevin Attreed of Virginia, and Kelley Hoff of Virginia; grandchildren, Chelsea and Emme Bozone, Nicolas and Christopher Morfea, and Corbin, Amber, and Nolan Attreed; brother, Robert E. William (also known as Lil Willie, Willie, and Bill) passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, March 17, 2017 after a brief illness. He was born in Portsmouth, Virginia on February 5, 1923 to Elenora Lee and William Thomas Burnette Sr. He graduated from I.C. Norcom High School, and received a Bachelor’s of Science in Industrial Education and Military Justice from Virginia State University. While at Virginia State, he was on the Varsity Wrestling team, pledged Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. and enrolled in Reserve Officers Training Corps. After graduation and commissioning, he was assigned to Fort Lee, VA, and met the love of his life Juanita Phyllis Ann Harrison. They joined in marriage in April 1953, and in January 1957 they enjoyed the birth their only child Victor Wayne Burnette. William remained a faithful and committed husband for 63 years.


Curtis Lee Flanagan, Jr., age 62, of Manassas, VA passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at Novant Health Prince William Medical Center.

He was born on December 24, 1954 in Allegany, Maryland the son of the late Curtis Lee Flanagan, Sr. and Dorothy Virginia (Kenney) Flanagan. He worked as a mechanic for Dulles Airport for several years.


Thomas Edward DeHart, age 49, of Washington, DC passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on May 2, 1967 in Cherverly, Maryland the son of the late Charles Thomas DeHart and Linda E. (Thompson) Reynolds. He was preceded in death by his father and sister, Debra Lynn Okamoto.


Charles (Chuck) Vincent Breder 77 of Gainesville, VA, passed away suddenly on 03/18/2017. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Louanna Irene Breder, his daughter Janelle S. Harris (Jimmy) of Bristow, VA, and their children James C. Harris and Ashley M. Harris, son C. Eric Breder (Lenora) of Greenville, RI, and their children Isabella N. Breder and Gabriel C. Breder. He is also survived by his sister M. Eileen Jones (Gary) of West Union, SC, and brother David H. Breder (Jane) of Maynardville, TN.

In 1962, Chuck graduated with a BS degree in Chemistry from Carson Newman University in Jefferson City, TN, and he earned both an MS degree (1964) and a Ph.D. degree in Chemistry (1968) from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. After graduation he was a Research Chemist for E.I. DuPont in Wilmington, DE (1967-71). Chuck was subsequently a Supervisory Chemist for the Food and Drug Administration (1971-84) in Washington, DC. He finished his career as a Staff Scientist for the Law Firm of Keller and Heckman, LLp in Washington, DC (1984-2014). Chuck occasionally made presentations at national meetings and lectured in courses offered by the law firm.


Marie Chapman Conner, age 85, of Manassas, VA passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 at her home.

Mrs. Conner loved reading the bible, cleaning, working in her flower gardens, spending time with her friends and family, and sharing the love of Jesus.

Dedicated husband, father and brother, Charles Milton Allen “Bud” Mackes, age 74, of Manassas, VA passed away Thursday, March 16, 2017.

Bud was born on March 9, 1943 in Allentown, PA to the late Charles & Arlene Mackes. He was preceded in death by two of his sisters Shirley Loy and Ethel Fazio.
