Virginia Moul passed away Saturday, April 1, 2016. Born Irma Virginia Hicks in Bedford County on June 3rd 1919, Virginia attended Radford College, graduating with honors in 1940. She began a teaching career in Montvale where she also learned to fly an airplane, securing a pilot’s license in 1941. After the war she moved to Chesapeake where she met and married Kenneth Moul, her husband of 52 years. After living in Atlanta and Richmond, the couple settled in Northern Virginia in 1953, where they had their children and lived the balance of their lives with the exception of a seven-year hiatus during he 1960’s when they lived in Chicago for two years and in San Juan, Puerto Rico for five. In the 1980’s she taught homebound children in the Fairfax County school system. From 2000 until her passing, Virginia lived in the Westminster at Lake Ridge community. She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Fairfax City. Virginia was a loving mother and dedicated to her family. Her beloved husband, Kenneth, and seven sisters and brothers preceded her in death. Family members surviving her are son Richard of Columbia, SC, his wife Peggy and daughters Anna and Irina, and son Robert of Arvada, Co, his wife Shawn and daughters Erica and Kendra. Her sister, Dorothy Palmer of Roanoke, as well as numerous nieces and nephews also survive her. A memorial service will be held in the Chapel at Westminster at Lake Ridge Friday, April 7.
